I want to hear what you all have to say about guns, and laws related to them. Concealed Carry, Automatic Weapons, whatever just keep it clean

I really don't have too much of a problem with guns to be honest. But I will say I fail to see the point in owning automatic weapons..

It is arguable that the world would be a much safer place without weapons, but that would never happen. In the existence of guns, I have no issues with ownership. I do have issues with how some people who really shouldn't be carrying a gun still manage to do so, but that grows more and more difficult to enforce.

Just thought I'd announce that I'm planning on going to an NRA banquet on August 8th. I know that a lot of people will say that this group is too extreme. Whatever the case may be, they are also making more progress than any other group that I can think of towards protecting second amendment rights.

I think there should be stricter background checks. Like, anyone with any bit of a criminal record shouldn't be allowed to own one. People who live in the countryside with a hunting license could have a more lenient check, maybe.

As a country America will never be allowed to rid itself of the second amendment. Why? Illegal immigrants and smuggled firearms. If we are forced to give licensed guns back, illegal/unlicensed weaponry will go undetected.

I have had a lot of experience with all kinds of guns...but I agree with most of you. Gun liscences must demand background (criminal records). Any dangerous offense should warrant a restriction of firearms to the individual. BUT- there are many instances that need to be allowed (i.e. Hunters, conservationists, etc.)

Automatic weapons probably aren't necessary, but i don't really have room to talk. My dad keeps a fully loaded sawed off shotgun under his bed, and i keep one in my pickup. Bottom line is, no one is going to mess with me, and that's the purpose of the 2nd amendment.

Although I have said all this, I don't really respect the use of firarms. I do like to hunt, BUT, i feel like a real sportsman is defined by the skills he has. Thats why I focus solely on archery------practical uses of firearms should be allowed, but urban uses should be tightly managed.

I believe in a certain amount of gun control but then agian It can be taken way to far. And everyone should be checked before purchasing a gun.

wow titsmcgee said something normal for once. i agree with him on bow hunting hard core. there really isnt any skill in shooting a gun at an animal. but when your hunting with a bow if its a stand or doing walk n block. takes way more skill

But there are still different factors i believe. I dont beleive archery is that much harder honestly. Its all about what you know. A good shot from a bow is a long shot right on target. Same with a rifle, rifles are made equally as hard if you shoot from a distance of 300+ yards just like a bow the bullet sinks and such. Making just about as hard as archery. Its all about taking it to its limits.
