What are your opinions on vinyl records compared to other mediums such as CDs? I think they have a fuller, richer sound because they more closer to what was actually recorded as opposed to the digital compression that CDs have.

I've never owned and actual record-player. I know tons of metal bands put out vinyl still, and I think that's probably attributed to capturing the detail of every note as there is so much to catch. I would like to get some one of these days.

Yes, I wish Hastings would expand their vinyl rack out a little bit. They don't actually carry that much in the way of metal. The only bands I've seen that they carry are Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth and Job for a Cowboy. I think I've seen a couple Tool albums in there as well but I guess that depends on your definition of metal.

I absolutely love vinyl. I used to own alot but then they were lost in a move sadly. But i completely agree with you Jake. The sound you get from them is much more rich than with a cd or mp3

I have a record player but I need to use it more than I do. It kind of just sits there at the moment when it should be playing music.

I'm interested in owning a record player also. I like the slight difference between an MP3/CD recording and an actual record.
Plus, I just like collecting them.

My record player is acting up lately. First the speed was stuck on 45 so it made everything sound like chipmunks. Then the needle was messed up. All I wanted to do was listen to the Rolling Stones Crying or Very sad

Yes, listening to the chipmunks singing Gimme Shelter was quite unpleasant. But hopefully it will be okay, just give work and time.
