Future Plans/Occupation Desires
I've always found it interesting to see where people plan on going with their lives.
Personally, I would love to get into game design, but there's a lot I can do. I love Art, Music, Math, English, and Computer Sciences...I'm the basic nerd, haha. I enjoy computer programming. I've done some basic Java stuff, and I'll be taking an AP programming course next year. I think software development and application design would be cool, but overall I would really love to do pretty much anything in the gaming industry, so I still have some deciding to do, lol. You guys have any plans for the future yet?

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
I would love to become a game designer as well but more I'd rather be a Racer or a musicain. but if I have to do something boring like something like a scientis or something I'd probably want to be a pharmacist.

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
I'm not too sure what I want to do. I think I would prefer going into some sort of musicianship, but I'm still not sure.
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
I want to be a World History professor, and eventually graduate to being a politician.

I've been set on wanting to become a veterinarian for a long time.

Something with video editing. I actually think it would be cool to be a director but that's next to impossible.

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
Well, Directors usually start small, so video editing could be on the path of being a director.
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
Yeah, definitely. I just had a decent thought, lol. We have a pretty diverse talent array between the members here. We've got writers, artists, editors, musicians, and even a director or two. We could all pull together sometime if you guys are interested in creating an animation, claymation, short video, or anything really. That would be pretty epic, IMO
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
FYI, I put up a claymation of my own here on The Gathering if you guys want to check it out/comment/etc. It's a little jumpy and the green screening was a little messed up since it wasn't lit very well, but I had fun doing it, learned a lot, and got a 98 on the project, lol.
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
I have myself a 4 year plan. Seeing i'm in Australia, it my vary from other people.
2008: Finish High school
2009: Get a full time job somewhere, to earn cash.
2010: Travel around Europe for a year, hoping to get signed by a label.
2011: If nothing happens with the getting signed to a label, come back to Aust. and go to University for a degree in Sound Engineering.

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
Thanks man.
If i don't earn enough cash through 09, i'll just go straight to '11's plan THEN travel.
But i want to make sure i savour my youth.

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
Um, well I love photography. I also love video game soundtracks. I know i never want to play live for a serious career. Too much pressure. So I figured if I wrote music for video games or movies it would be pretty cool. As for photography, I'd love to be a photographer for national geographic magazine. I'd be able to travel a lot. So after high school, I'm going to stay at home for a year and get a shit job and try to pay for some of my tuition. My ideal degree would be the 4 year one, (I always forget what they are called, bachelor or masters?)

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
Video game soundtracks are amazing. It's really sad, but I've got the Metal Gear Solid 2 theme on my iPod...it's amazing though! Orchestral, Tech, a little Rock, it's just amazing. That and the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children soundtrack. One Winged Angel was my favorite song for a while, lol.
I have a friend who does some GREAT photography, I wish I had a better camera than my 4.0 Megapixil pile of junk.

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
I have wanted to be a marine biologist for forever but I think that is a little far fetched so now I kind of want to work at DRC (dolphin research center). I have been visiting there website for a long time now and reading about it a lot and it sounds pretty cool. Now all I have to do is get older and figure out just how to get the money to go there and work.
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
"All I have to do is get older" - lol, I know the feeling. I've been researching stuff for a while too, being young can suck at times, but it's always good to prepare the best you can You've got plenty of time, so use it to your advantage!
Take a lot of biology. I loved my bio class. I had a 98 on the regents examination at the end of the year, not bad.
The coolest part was probably dissecting the pig for extra credit, lol.
You goal isn't necessarily far-fetched, you just have to work for it, lol. Just make sure you do alright in school and don't slack off in any of your sciences (or anything else).

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
It was pretty great. My friend Scotty and I named our specimen Mayella, LOL
It really wasn't bad, and you learn a lot from it b/c the internal structure of pigs is so close to that of humans.
It was pretty funny sometimes too. Some people are like "Eew, this is gross!" and they get laughed at. Meanwhile other people are uncoiling the intestines to see how much is really there, haha.

Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
My older sister dissected a snake and a rat. I saw them both and I was kinda grossed out but it was pretty cool. Next year I think she is dissecting a shark.
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
You should watch if you get the chance, I'm sure the internal structures are fairly similar in size and function. Be sure to ask questions too, it will help you gain a better understanding. Photo documentation is always rad too, and could help you out later after you've taken a biological course (which probably won't be until your sophomore year in high school).
Re: Future Plans/Occupation Desires
Oh boy! I get to watch a dead shark get it's insides get taken out!! Just what I always wanted!
