Micheal Jackson's death
First topic message reminder :
Is anyone else incredibly irritated by the ongoing media sensation that is, MJ's death? Now, I know full well we have a vicious and unforgiving popular media system, but are the so relentless as to inspect and redress every single movement of this legends life? can't they just let the family be? and then continue to cover legalities of his death including the exploitation of his children and the custody battle over them. I understand and appreciate the memorials and dedications by broadcasting stations re-living his music, but that's as far as I believe it should go.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
Yeah, that still amazes me to this day too. His death in a way saved his legacy.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
I agree. Had he lived long enough for any of those accusations to be sought out and officially declared none of his legacy would have the same overtones as it does now.
He's been immortalized even more for the fact that his doctor is still being questioned and by the testimonials given by his children...which isn't such a bad thing, of course.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
Well I have researched the allegations against him and both trials it seems like were extortion attempts. It seems like he suffered from a case of arrested development thanks to the abuse of his dad rather than any case of sexual interest in the children. I think it's a shame the way the media pretty much ruined his life. I would never want to live the life that he did because it seems like he was trapped by his own fame.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
Ya it really was rather tragic. Everyone always looked at the negatives of him closer to the end of his life. But now everyone loves him again its a horrible thing.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
I find myself delving into more of his music. I was a fan of his before the death, but I only like 3-5 songs. But I find myself slowly liking his other hits and lesser known songs.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
I thought his Superbowl performance that Jake posted on his facebook was really cool. I enjoyed watching it, and it seemed like he put a lot of effort into making sure it was a great show.
Re: Micheal Jackson's death
That is one thing I noticed about Michael a long time ago, it always looked like he put in a huge amount of effort.

Yeah he truly was an amazing performer, from wacthing the movie This is It, it looked like he still had it before he died as well. It's such a shame.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
I think Jake or Brad are the best resources here. I'm not entirely sure of its topic either. I have an idea, but it's very general.

Re: Micheal Jackson's death
It's just a documentary about what was supposed to be the rehearsals and days leading up to his big comeback concerts. It ended up being a film about the last few days of his life.
